"Documenting the Face of America: Roy Stryker and the FSA/OWI Photographers" was researched in UofL's Photographic Archives. It will air Monday, Aug. 18, at 10 p.m. on KET. Julian Bond narrates. Stryker was photo editor and visionary for the Farm Security Administration photographers, including Dorothea Lange, Gordon Parks and Walker Evans. Their photos still serve as icons of Depression-era America. Stryker's personal archive and photograph collection are preserved at UofL in the Photographic Archives.

Woodblocks from John P. Morton and Co., a historic Louisville-based book publisher, are on display in the small cases on the first floor of the new wing opposite the circulation desk in Ekstrom Library. Morton and Co. published books on all subjects and specialized in health sciences and children's books. Accompanying prints were made by Nathalie Andrews, director of the Portland Museum, made the prints that are displayed. Robert Doherty, former head of fine arts, obtained the woodblocks for UofL when Morton and Co. was closing.
The After hour study area in Ekstrom Library has be to closed tonight at 9:00 pm and will be closed when the library is closed this weekend.
